Who's Purpose is it Anyway?

My Drawing

Everyone has a purpose in life. The only problem is finding it. I wish I could say I know mine, but I can't. What I do have on the other hand is a purpose is now and what I would like my purpose to be later. I have ideas as to what I want to be, but which one will it be or if it changes entirely is still up in the air.

What is my purpose now? Well I am a sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece, and cousin. I have three younger siblings: Michaela, Tim, and Sarah. I help them with their homework and if they need help with something else. Then there are times when I need them to help me. My parents are always there for me. They help me and when they need it I try to help them. They are always encouraging me to do my best. My Grandpa Havlik is the best grandpa there is. I help him go shopping and spend time with him. He will give me pointers on many things and enjoys having me around. My Aunt Esther and Aunt Sarah are my mom's sisters. They too have showed me how to do things. Usually it's about cooking, but they have their life lessons to share as well. Then there are my cousins. I am the oldest of twelve (including me). I help watch them, get their plates, and entertain them. But sometimes they will entertain me. I have many purposes within my family. I help them and they help me. It's a close knit family and I'm glad I have them.

Sky after Tornado

My parents are in charge of cleaning the church sanctuary. So that means when they think it needs a clean we all go to the church. Michaela, Tim, and I get do all of the vacuuming. Dad, Mom, and Sarah do the dusting and polishing of all the wood. It's a lot of fun. Yes, I just said cleaning is fun. I usually bring my Ipod to listen to. I sing and vacuum at the same time. My parents look at me and think I'm weird, but I have fun doing it. Every once in a while we will plug my or someone elses Ipod into the sound system and play music as we clean up. We all enjoy it. Although some (me) have more fun than others.

My Drawing
I'm not quite sure what I want to do in college. I do know that I am going to Hastings CCC to do my Gen. Eds. I have a few ideas as to what I want to do. I am thinking of becoming an artist, video game designer, meteorologist, animator, graphic designer, or writer. I have interests in all of these areas I just don't know which one is for me. I want a job that I can be happy with no matter what is going on. A relative of mine, Dwain, told me this very same thing. He is a janitor at a school and he loves what he does. I want to be able to do the same thing. Which is why I have listed the things that I think will make me the happiest. I enjoy drawing and art, which has to do with many of the things on my list. Then there is meteorology. Meteorology means the study of the atmosphere and weather. I have always loved watching storms. I would rather be outside taking pictures of a tornado than be down stairs in the basement. Weird? Maybe, but I love watching the weather. Also there is being a writer. I thought about being a writer when I was little, but I could never write a story that turned out the way I wanted, so I quit writing. Now I am taking a class called Creative Writing and it has inspired me to write again. I am working on a short story, which is turning out to be quite long. I am having so much fun writing it. I just wish I had more time to work on it. But the life a senior in high school isn't easy.

I have a purpose now, but I wish I knew what my purpose will be when I get older. But I will have to wait. Sometimes it can be nerve raking to not know where you are going, but then again you can just go with the flow. Waiting isn't always easy, but it's part of life. Everyone will get where they need to be. It's just a matter of time.
